Fur Babe Foodie - Flower-Flounder Quinoa
My Fur Babe recipes are for dogs only. Dogs are scavengers and a variety of foods can be safely fed to them to improve their diets. (Cats are carnivores and must eat primarily meats to remain healthy.)
I recommend that you clear my recipes with your vet before feeding them to your own Fur Babe, and that you always provide your pups with a varied diet. I make several different recipes for my Fur Babe every week, as well as supplementing his diet with a high quality dry dog food.
I have never made a recipe that North does not devour. I began feeding him homemade foodie meals at two months old. I will never share one with you that is not a hit in his book.
8 - 10 Filets Fresh or Thawed Flounder
2 c. Fresh or Frozen Broccoli
2 c. Fresh or Frozen Cauliflower Rice
1 Can Pumpkin Puree
Cook the quinoa in a large pot with four cups of water, over medium heat. Cook for thirty minutes, lightly covered, stirring occasionally & adding water as necessary.
Add the fish, broccoli, cauliflower & pumpkin. Combine the mixture well and continue cooking for another fifteen minutes, stirring often, before removing the pot from the heat.
Allow it to set, stirring occasionally, for at least thirty minutes.
A serving can be given to your dog while warm - Not Too Hot - the rest can be stored, covered, in the fridge, for a few days.
My Fur Babe is still a large breed pup and finishes this amount of food in about three days. He also gets a serving of dry dog food in the mornings as a supplement.
