I Walked Alone
Wandering far I walked alone.
Searching places I had never known.
Meeting faces I had never seen.
Going places I had never been.
Excitement and beauty, I did find.
Never bothered by leaving home behind.
Looking for something, I couldn’t define.
Longing for somewhere that I could call mine.
It wasn’t a country, an island or sea.
You were what I needed so I could be me.
You were the reason I traveled afar.
You had what I wanted, it was who you are.
I never imagined you take my hand.
I had no idea you would take a stand.
I thought that I knew me, but you knew me more.
I now have things never imagined before.
I owe you my happy, my love and my life.
I owe you the credit for being your wife.
I thank skies above that you dug your heels in.
I thank you forever for letting us begin.
