Soulusence…showing yourself.

Soulusence…showing yourself.

I guess that I had my first real awakening, so to speak, when I was about fifteen years old. I had had a troubled childhood and it wasn’t until then that the world finally started to make some sense to me and I started to get happy. One of my revelations at that point in my life was the idea of soulusence. It’s a simple idea really. It’s the concept that the better you show off your soul to the rest of the world; the more beautiful you will appear to others.

I know people who are ascetically very beautiful, but when I look at them I only see the ugliness of their terrible selfish personalities. In the same respect, there are people who I know who aren’t in any way cover models, but I think that they are the most beautiful people in the whole world. I have seen their true souls because they have shown them to me. I have seen how much love they have inside of themselves and it is truly gorgeous.

So where I am going with all of this is to stress the importance of having a beautiful soul. It is far more important than having a beautiful body. Once you have a beautiful soul, seek to understand the importance of showing it to the rest of the world. Never hesitate to let people know about your best qualities. Never be afraid to show your kindness, or energy, or compassion, or friendship. If the people that you are showing up for reject these things in you…you should run away as fast as you can, because they are not good people.

This is such an important message for adults to convey to young people. Not just parents, all adults. Weather or not you have children; these young people are our legacy. All of our legacy, not just their moms’ and dads’. There aren’t a lot of people in our society who have no influence over the children in their lives. Everyone has a responsibility to his or her nieces and nephews, and to their friends’ children as well. If you find yourself in a place where you don’t have any young people in your life you can change that. Big Brothers & Sisters is a wonderful organization and they are always searching for volunteers to mentor children. Child & Family Services are always seeking out people who are willing to be foster parents as well as for people to serve as CASAS…these are people who work as an extra go-between for the kids when it comes to the court, and their parents.

Now I’m not saying that you should go out there and do some good charity work because it is guaranteed to make you better looking. More likely you will discover that helping others makes you feel really good, then you will start to become happier, and bit by bit a really unhappy ugly individual can become an outstanding person. Humans are not meant to be solitary creatures. We are communal animals, we are meant to live in large families, to help each other, to support one another. The atrocities that we see happening in our society may very well be the result of the distance that we have all placed between ourselves and the rest of the world. It needs to change. If you don’t have time to volunteer, if you don’t like kids and aren’t interested in community service, just go outside. Take a walk through your neighborhood and say hello to every person that you see. Even by taking those tiny steps you will see that you are making a difference and your soul will begin to shine through.

20 Things…you learn after moving to Florida.
1.There is a big difference between a roach and a palmetto bug. Real roaches are the guys from New York. They infest, they are spooky smart, they are dirty and nasty, and you have to work really hard to get rid of them. Palmetto bugs however, are big and creepy and dumb. You usually see them outside at night and they will fly right at your face. They don’t infest because they are native and they can’t survive in our AC temps. 2.Every public indoor place will always be frigid. Most of your friend’s houses will be as well. I take a sweater with me almost everywhere that I go, and if I forget to I regret it. 3.Outside of weather emergencies, weathermen are superfluous. In the rainy season, which is most of the time, there is an eighty percent chance of rain, every single day. The weather man has no idea what time it will rain, how hard, or for how long, and there is no way for him to predict it. You just have to go out there with your fingers cr…
